Playing Wii Mario Olympics

On Christmas Eve we spent the evening playing Mario Olympics on the Wii, making cookies, tracking Santa's whereabouts on the Norad website, writing letters to Santa, leaving reindeer food in the yard for the reindeer, having a nice dinner and finally opening presents. The kids opened their presents faster than I could keep track. It was hard to get them to settle down for bed. Finally after they went to bed the adults could relax for a little while. I got up early with Chase a snuck a picture of what Santa had left all of the kids before they got up. Looks like Santa thought our kids were on the nice list this year.

Kemah Boardwalk

Kemah Boardwalk is a small amusement park with shops and restaurants along Galveston Bay. Hurricane Ike totally destroyed it. They said it was under 17 feet of water at one point. Now 4 months later some of it has finally reopened. There were only three rides that were open and a couple restaurants. They are hoping to be back up and fully running by Spring Break

Houston Space Museum

We took the kids to the Kennedy Space Museum in Houston. This is where NASA's mission control for all of the space shuttle launches are. The kids had a blast.

Courtney's Birthday Lunch

My niece turns 9 today but we celebrated her birthday while she was here. We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant here in Texas Los Cucos (AZ still has better Mexican food). They put a sombrero on her and fed her sopapillas with whip cream. You may remember this past summer when we went there for my friend Summer's birthday. They do a pretty good job embarrassing the birthday person. The kids all took turns with the hat.
