Happy 9th Anniversary

This is from The Melting Pot last night. This is our wedding party 9 years ago.

This is our senior prom.

This is from the MORP dance which was one of are first few dates. It sure would be nice the be this skinny again. Hopefully someday soon!!

Yesterday was Alex and my 9th wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe that it has been that long and that we have been dating since the end of our senior year in high school. Our neighbors watched the kids for us so we could go out to dinner. We went to The Melting Pot. Alex has never been and I have only done the ladies night out which is the cheese, salad and the chocolate fondue. It was really good but for anyone that has never been the main course is not all that special for the price. Truly the best part is the appetizer (cheese fondue) and the dessert (chocolate fondue). The meat part takes along time and is just okay. It was so nice to go out alone with no kids.

Emma's Last Day of School

Emma's last day of school was on Wednesday. They had a splash day where they got to play in the sprinklers and a blow up water slide. She had so much fun. This is a picture of her and her teacher Ms. Lisa. She was such a great teacher and Emma loved her and Ms. Denise who was the teachers aid. Emma won't be 5 years old until September 17th and the cut off in here in Texas is September 1st so she will have to do one more year of preschool then off to Kindergarten. Both girls are signed up for a summer camp for three weeks at this preschool. Paige is so excited that she finally gets to go too.

Trip to the ER

THIS:

= THIS:

= $50 co-pay and no sleep

So last week while the girls are picking up the play room before they went to bed Paige informs me that she has stuck a yellow Polly Pocket high heel shoe up her nose. I was so upset. When she was two she stuck a hair rubberband up her nose and it had to be removed by the doctor with a pair of really long tweezers and being held down by Alex, a nurse, and the receptionist. I thought she would have learned her lesson and we have drilled it into her over the last year and she has been so good. She has played with Polly Pocket so much and never done anything. Needless to say I couldn't get it out. It was 8:45 PM at night before the pediatrician called back and told me to take her to the ER. The kicker was that Alex was flying home from a business trip in Canada and wouldn't be home until midnight so I packed all three kids up and headed to the ER. After a 3 hour wait the doctor couldn't see it up there anymore so he took an x-ray to see if something was in her lung and couldn't find anything there either. He thinks she may have coughed it up and swallowed it and would be making its way out the other end in a few days. Emma was so upset because she really wanted the shoe back. Needless to say it is gone and so are the rest of the Polly Pockets in our house. They were always a big mess anyway and now having Chase it is just best to take them away now. They really are an annoying toy anyway. The clothes are really hard for kids to get on and off so when they are playing with them I have to change their outfits a million times and I find pieces of them everywhere in my house. They were cute but no more.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day we went to PF Changs which is one of my favorite restaurants. We then walked around the mall trying to decide what to do for dessert. That is when we came upon a table selling half price cookie cakes since Mother's Day was almost over so Alex decides to buy us one. I thought he would get the small one but when he came to the table he had got the big one. Needless to say our family sat in the food court and ate the entire cake. Pretty gross huh? It was very thin but still no excuse. This is no way to lose the baby weight but it sure was yummy.

Mother's Day Tea at Emma's Preschool

Emma's preschool hosted a Mother's Day Tea on Friday. Each kid made their mom a wooden jewelry box, a paper flower corsage, and a card with a teapot on it with a real teabag you could pull out. It was very cute. The kids made us muffins and punch and then the teacher read to the group what the kids liked best about their mom.

Teacher Appreciation Cake

Last week was teacher appreciation day at Emma's preschool. I volunteered to make a cake. I think it turned out pretty good. I took some classes a couple years ago at Hobby Lobby ( they offer them at Michael's also). I am lucky that I am not a big cake or frosting eater which makes it a little easier not to snack while I am making them.

Family Fun With Our Neighbors

Two weekends ago, we went down the street to our neighbors who have a little play pool for the kids to play in. They had a great time. We went and picked up a Subway party platter and had a picnic in their yard. There was an emergency with one of the other neighbors which was sad but the firemen stopped to say hi to the kids on their way out of the neighborhood and passed out plastic fire hats to them all which they loved. It was starting to get late and we realized we needed to all get home and get our kids in the bath. That is when Tami ( our neighbor) went and got the soap and shampoo and the kids decided to take baths in the pool. They loved all the bubbles.
