The Polar Express

The conductor punching their tickets
The North Pole out of the train window so my picture is blurry.

We took the kids on The Polar Express last weekend. It was so much fun. This was a train ride based on the book and movie. We went on a real train and the kids wore their pajamas like in the movie and they were served hot chocolate and treats. They had music from the movie playing and also read they story over the intercom. They then grabbed all the kids and had them dancing in the aisle and singing Christmas songs. There was a herd of deer running alongside the train when we first got on and one kid yelled they saw Rudolf and so all the kids including Paige claimed they saw his shiny red nose. The train stopped at the North Pole which we could see out the window. It was a house with lights and Santa and some elves were outside waving. Santa then climbed aboard and talked to all the kids and passed out sleigh bells to all the little believers. We had such a great time.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

After dinner we took the kids down to the park to let them run off some energy and a lot of our neighbors had the same idea. We had a great Thanksgiving and are very thankful for all of our blessings.

I cooked Thanksgiving this year and my dad was here and my cousin and her family from Austin came to stay for a couple days too. The kids all had a blast together.

Grandpa in town

This was at a Christmas Festival where the kids loved playing on the stage with the ice sculptures There was a snow hill with man made snow to go sledding down which the girls loved. Too bad the line was so long or they would have done it all night. The night ended with a cool fireworks show right above are heads. The night started off pretty cold but as the clouds moved it it warmed up slightly and was a real nice evening.

My dad came to visit us for Thanksgiving. We kept him very busy while he was here. He likes projects so we put him to work. Alex and he designed and built a shed, he put together a doll house the girls are getting for Christmas from my mom, he fixed items around the house that were broken, cleaned the garage, various trips to Lowes and Home Depot, dropped off donations to Goodwill for me, babysat the kids and helped with Thanksgiving dinner. Needless to say he needed a vacation from his vacation. We really appreciated him and the kids had a blast with him here.

Pictures with Santa

I took the kids to see Santa and I got lucky this year that I had no one scared or shy. They all loved him.

Turkey Tango

The girls had Thanksgiving dance performances. They were so cute. Paige did the Turkey Waddle and Emma's was the Turkey Tango. These were dance performances that were for parents and family but were just performed during class time. The real recital isn't until May but you could tell they have already learned so much so far.

Family Pictures

Last weekend I had a neighbor take some family pictures for me and I took some of the kids. I think they turned out pretty good. It is hard to get three kids to cooperate at the same time.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Alex caught in the act.

This was our first Halloween here in Texas and it was a great one. There are hundreds of kids in our neighborhood and all were out trick or treating. Emma and Paige were so happy they didn't have to wear coats, hats and mittens this year. Some of our neighbors and us rented a moonwalk (big blow up castle to jump in) for the weekend. On Halloween we went to a different neighbors house for a potluck and then went and jumped for an hour and then went trick or treating. The next night is when we had our potluck and the kids jumped pretty much most of the afternoon into the evening. We ended the evening with a bonfire and even some of us adults jumped for awhile. It was such a fun weekend. We decided we are going to try and rent it again for New Years Eve.
